Home Essentials Acetone is a hard worker. Well known for removing nail polish, it has plenty of handy uses around the home too.

This powerful liquid can remove paint and polish, break down oil and grease, aid in stain and scuff mark removal, and even dissolve super glue.

If you don't want it to be there, acetone can help.

Delivery

Delivery Fee: We offer FREE delivery within New Zealand on all orders at $50 NZD and above. For orders under this amount, handling & shipping is just $7.99 for North Island, and $9.99 for South/Outer Island.

Delivery Timeframe: Orders are processed and dispatched twice a week (Tuesday & Thursday), cut-off time is 5pm Monday, 5pm Wednesday.

Please allow couriers 3-5 days for delivery. For rural addresses, please allow for an extra 1-2 days for delivery. Please note that delays in courier times are out of our control. Estimated delivery times are to be used as a guide only. Deliveries take place Monday - Friday.

PO Box Delivery: Unfortunately, we are unable to deliver to post office boxes at this time. A signature is required on delivery for all New Zealand orders.

Delivery Acceptance: All orders will be dispatched on a signature-on-delivery courier. All parcels will be delivered to the provided address and will require a signature on receipt. Providing a work address for delivery is recommended if no one is home during business hours. Due to security issues, the parcel cannot be left unattended. Where no one is home to sign for the parcel, a card will be left detailing the nearest pick up point.

Order Tracking & Enquiries: An order confirmation will appear as the final step in your order process. You’ll also receive an email confirmation with an order number and a purchase summary. How to use

 

Removes

  • Nail polish from nails and some fabrics*
  • China stains - dip a cotton bud into acetone, rub over the stain, then wash and rinse china as normal.
  • Scuff marks from walls or floors
  • Dilute 1 tbsp Acetone in 250ml water. Carefully rub the surface using a gentle cloth or brush. 
  • Ink
  • Scratches on plastic - dip a cotton bud into Acetone and gently buff over the scratch. Work slowly and gently to avoid more damage.
  • Melted plastic - once item is completely cooled, dip a cloth into Acetone and wipe the plastic until it starts to loosen. Once gone, use clean water to rinse the area.
Cleans**
  • Shoes - use undiluted on leather or fabric shoes.

  • Glass and porcelain - wipe clean with warm water afterwards.

Dissolves
Oil or grease on fabric - Turn item inside out and place on a thick cloth to protect the surface below. Drizzle acetone over the stain and wash as normal.
